Next door is delightful Downderry fresh after the rain. Our garden visitors this week from Adelaide and Secret Gardens of the Dandenong Ranges enjoyed seeing the gorgeous Devon inspired cottages nestled in their gardens. Edna designed them to sit ‘lightly on the landscape’ and each has been sensitively extended over time to retain all the arts and crafts charm of her design.
The Barn in all her Spring glory. Lush green and so fragrant. Putting Edna’s steps back in carefully. After some expert assistance in the almost dark we are just about done.
A weekend's hard manual labour employing some big boys toys, rakes, spades, shovels and a whole team of volunteers has stripped up the old lawn and prepared the ground for the new. It's snowing in Bickleigh Vale... ... and I’ve decided I can’t fight the catkins of our Aspens which float their
downy snow like seeds to coat the lawn.
