History of "Abbotsley" 1916 - Initial sub-division of 112 acres 1922 - Sonning built by Edna Walling 1933 - Sub-division of land adjoining Sonning and the creation of Bickleigh Vale Village 1953 - Sub-division of Sonning creates a separate allotment from the eastern portion surrounding The Cabin (later to become Sarn) 1954 - Property transferred from Edna Walling to Aldyth Grace Russell and extension of Bickleigh Vale Road created 1978 - Bickleigh Vale Village classified by National Trust Landscape Committee 20th December 1979 - Sub-division of Sarn to create a separate allotment from the eastern portion (to become Abbotsley.) Certificate of Title issued in the name of Eustace Culham Hudson Marsden ("Roos"), Bank Manager, and Jeanne Lawler Marsden, Married Woman 1979-80 - Abbotsley house built and garden landscaping commenced by Roos & Jeanne Marsden 1981-82 - Extensive drystone walls constructed throughout the garden to give the garden it's distinct Abbotsley character 16th March 1999 - Transfer from Roos and Jeanne Marsden to Colin Bruce Downie and Sonia Marina Downie 28th October 2002 - Transfer from Colin and Sonia Downie to Sonia Marina Downie 9th May 2005 - Transfer from Sonia Downie to David Wigraft and Kimberley Ann Dale 23rd November 2006 - Transfer from David Wigraft and Kimberley Dale to Valerie Jean Gusti 29th December 2010 - Transfer from Valerie Gusti to Christopher Warwick Jones and Karyn Leigh Jones |
