I’ve just been looking at your website re Lynton Lea - it states that one of the Wilson sisters “ Beryl “ was the sole sister alive in 1963.
That’s impossible as I used to mow the lawns , rake leaves and as I got older fixed roof shingles etc as I was an apprentice carpenter.
I started there in 1966 as a 13 year old and finished Xmas 1972 as nearly a 19 year old and both the sisters were still alive then.

Thanks for getting in touch with us and bringing this interesting snippet of information to our attention. I assume you’re referring to title transfer details in the “History of Individual Properties” section of this page:
“23 July 1954: Transferred from Parish to Lillian Beryl Wilson and Elisabeth Wilson [vol 8046 fo1575]
20 September 1963: Lillian Beryl Wilson, of Crail Cottage, Pine Road, Mooroolbark, Spinster, is now the surviving proprietor [vol 8046 fol 575]”

Interestingly, this came from a document I was provided by a former resident of Bickleigh Vale when I moved here 13 years ago. That document is a detailed list of all the property title changes within Bickleigh Vale over the years. As I understand it, the document was prepared from title searches for each property but I’m afraid I don’t know who prepared it.

Other information on this Lynton Lee page was provided by a relative of Janet McLure who owned Lynton Lee after the Wilson sisters. I notice on the page in the section headed, “Crail Cottage” that it refers to three Wilson sisters – Ledlie (or should that be Leslie – we’ll have to do some research), Betty and Beryl Wilson. Putting two and two together, suggests that the two Wilson sisters you knew were Ledlie (or “Leslie”) and Beryl, and that the one who’d died in 1963 was Elizabeth (“Betty.”) The accompanying photo only shows Ledlie and Beryl too which further supports this hypothesis.
