Garden NotesA long driveway leads to Down Derry, originally built for Edna Walling’s mother in the early 1920s.
Surrounded by significant trees including Copper Beach, Scarlett Oak, Hornbeam and a huge English Elm, the pink cottage nestles beautifully in the landscape. The garden has typical Edna Walling plantings including Malus, Hellebores, Hydrangeas and bulbs a plenty in the springtime. Winding paths and stone walls originally built by Walling herself have been carefully restored, as has the crazy paving. The green pallet planted by Edna walling is lifted by occasional splashes of seasonal colour not just her most preferred white. Much loved by Maryann who has lived there for 30 years the garden is magical a true delight to live in. |
